Toki here… starting anodizing line up again mid March. Msg me for details.

OK, up and running. Please email me at [email protected] for details.

Here is the first one out. One of mine.

Email on the way about that USMC Unertl 10X we discussed previously!

Thanks,
Dave

Toki's green is looking pretty good! Just remember to get the gen 1 Redfield scope with the correct external features. Don't worry about having the same tombstone rangefinder or even the correct reticle, no one will see it from the exterior and it will give you more options to find a scope (and hopefully for a better price). If possible, try to find an "F" prefix scope, that is the serial number prefix for the USMC greenies (matte black gen 2 scopes had a "Y" prefix). If you want, you can also weld up the corners on the 700SA base, square them off, and then reblue the base. This will give you a base that's extremely close to the early 40X bases (some later 40X bases had rounded corners) that look really good on the original USMC M40's.

This is actually the scope that's pictured in Chandler's Death From Afar volume 1 on page 164:

Looking forward to seeing more M40 clones when Toki finishes a bunch of green scopes!

I have an M40 clone being finished up, and sent a Redfield to Toki today... hope to post up pics soon.

If anyone is interested, I have the two Redfield 3x9 scopes I just anodized for sale. Neither have accurange reticles (standard crosshairs on both)

First one has all the correct external features for an M40 clone. Anodized in US Specialty Olive Drab anodizing dye. Lenses and operation are perfect on this scope. $490 shipped.

Second one is the same early Redfield, anodized in US Specialty Olive Drab dye. This scope is the model that does not have the knurled knob on the magnification ring, but otherwise the same as the first one in feautres. Glass and operation are perfect. $425 shipped

email me at: [email protected]

Both were completely serviced, cleaned, resealed when I put them back together. I don't have the ability to post in the For Sale forum, so hope I don't get in trouble...

You might check in over on the M40 forum. Someone was asking about you.

They have a certificate issue. If you click on advanced then you can bypass that and get to forum

Thanks for the closeups. Refining my metal prep a bit to achieve the finish.

Guys, if you want your M40 sniper to have a true anodized greenie (or blackie) let me know. Got my line going full steam. Manufactured some new tools.
Does anyone know of an effective way to cool a sulfuric acid bath? Email me at: [email protected] before I start taking an A/C apart. It’s acid, so the cooling delivery has to be glass or plastic.

Get one of those medical devices that use a cooler full of ice than work on siphon or convection to bring cold water through a tube than recirculate it back to the ice.

People that have joint surgery use them to heal.

It’s an igloo cooler full of icy water and plastic tube.

The tube could go in your acid.

Save me a spot in line for the free solution.

Worked with sulfuric acid all my life, never needed to cool it. :D

It do get hot though.

I see this is offered in the vintage sniper section for a reason, but is there any reason you couldn’t anodize other things (scope mounts particularly)?

Got my scope back, she's a greenie now, very happy 😃

Any chance Mil-Dot reticles would be a skill you want to attain.

My dream is an early Redfield, green anodized, with Mil-dots so I can set zero and forget it.

That’s how I run my Leopold M40 replicas and they are my funnest guns to shoot.

Has anyone used this company's services? They say they can add reticles to Redfield scopes.

I have a Weaver T 10 there now getting a mil dot reticle... I will try and follow up with you when I get it back.

While waiting on Toki to do my scope, I looked at the pics a good friend of mine took in Vietnam. The pics aren't in great shape, but these old memories are what inspired me to build my M40.
