I have a 34MM 28MOA picatinny mount lying in my parts bin I was going to use on my AIAE

My question is this, can I use this 28MOA mount in conjuction with a 25MOA base that is already on my TRG-42 with the S&B 5-25 ?

This will give me a total of 52MOA cant

I know the AI mount for this for this scope and 338 lapua combo is 45MOA. With the excess 7MOA give me problems. I wouldn't think so but I thought I would check

I would rather not buy another mount and base ( flat base, the AI 45MOA mount ) if I can get away with it

Thanks for your help !

The answer is "Yes", but you may not be able to zero it at 100 yards. I believe 45 MOA is the recommended base for the 5-25X, so you overshot by 7 MOA. If this is 5 MOA beyond what your scope can adjust for then your zero will have to be roughly at 500 yards or longer.
