I thought for the 700P in an HS stock with stock bottom metal was 35-40lbs?

there is an aluminum pillar is there not? if so, it is 65 inch pounds.

when i removed the action from the factory stock in my SPS-T it was at most torqued to 30 in-lbs but i still re torqued it to 55 in-lbs when i re-installed it and now that its in a bell & carlson i torqued it to 65 in-lbs. if you want to torque to factory and havent removed the action yet then start with your wrench set real low and keep testing until you reach a setting where it backs off without clicking.
