I'm thinking of purchasing a USO SN-3 3.2-17x44 in the near future (I'm waiting to decide until I get back from Iraq). I would want to get the US #3 M40 style knob with windage stop. I like the stop because I'm used to the S&B we use on our M40A3's, Mk11's, and SASR's, which offers 6 mils left and 6 mils right with a stop. I was informed that the #3 knob only offers 5 mils right and 5 mils left adjustment. After doing some research on some other scopes, I realized that most other scopes with a windage stop offer at least 6 mils left and right of adjustment.
My question is: Has anyone who shoots a .308 and has a USO with the US #3 windage knob with stop ever run out of windage adjustment and had to use a hold because of it. I once had to use 4.5 mils right at 950 yards while I was at sniper school on the UKD range, and probably would have been over 5 mils had the distance been much further.
Thanks for any feedback! -Mike
