Well, continue to build up my first LR precision rifle, and just got my TPS 0' alloy scope base from the man in the brown truck. Per all the information I've read about bedding a base if it's not level, I mounted the TPS base on my .223 700 SPS Tac with only the front screws. Looked for a gap in the rear, and then took my Surefire G2X and shown it under the back of the base and didn't see any gap. Then took the screws out of the front and screwed them into the rear two holes to see if the front was flush, and it was. Not sure if TPS builds a very straight base (probably), or if Remington had a good day and made my 700 level where it should be, but I'm a happy camper! The TPS base looks to be a real quality piece!
Now just waiting for my Vortex HS 5-15x44 mil/mil scope from Midway. Should be in in about a week. Then order a set of TPS TSR SL rings. Hopefully it doesn't get too darn cold here in Wisconsin before I get the rifle put together to I can put some rounds down range!
