My father-in-law has a 8" colt anaconda I would like and offered my 22-250 winchester model 70 coyote rifle with an adjustable jewel trigger as trade.

I was wondering if guys on here would consider this a pretty even trade? Or would you think I could pull more cash by selling the rifle and buying an anaconda with cash left over?

I bought the rifle new about eight years ago and have only put around two hundred rounds through it. Shoots great but since I got my AR havent had any use for it.

Re: Trade for an 8" Colt Anaconda

It all depends on the condition of the Colt (as well as whether it incl. the orig box, paperwork, etc.)...

A new to like new Colt Anaconda will run approx. $1,000 or so (with box, paperwork, etc.). Your Coyote is probably worth around $800 or so (again...depending on its condition), and depending on what all it includes with the rifle like scope, mounts/rings, etc. Your best way of establishing an approx "value" for your rifle (and to confirm my suspicions on the value of both) is to run a search on GunBroker and see what each are going for.

If you like and would enjoy a Colt Anaconda more than a Win 22-250, Then it is a good deal. Don't let someonelse or a bean counter for a gun publishing outfit tell you the value you get out of a firearm.

It is not a matter of what it is worth, but what it is wort to you! I have rifles that I wouldnt take 2X market value for, and have sold some for 1/2.

Re: Trade for an 8" Colt Anaconda

I agree with both of you and understand. The anaconda is in very good shape near excellent no box no paperwork. My winchester is in perfect shape and has the Jewel trigger. The anaconda would be much more valuable to me. The only reason I posted this was because I'm not in it to pull a fast one on anybody and want it to be a far trade and was wondering if others agreed that it is a FAIR deal value wise.
