I had it on a 338 Lapua bolt gun with a Vortex PST so it gave me enough elevation to dial out to 1,900 yards. The PST did not have enough elevation to dial so I ran that mount on top of a 20 moa rail with a 1000 yard zero.
I would say it depends on your set up on if it is beneficial or not. If you have a level rail then it’s a great way to get the same benefit as having a 20 or 30 moa rail without having to change the rail. For example If your running an optic that has 80 moa of elevation travel you are actually only getting 40 moa from center. Obviously this varies base on your setup and where you zero actually falls in the tube. If you were running a flat rail then your only going to get 40ish moa of adjustment. If you add the mount in then you gain 30 moa back in usable adjustment putting you somewhere around 70 moa of usable adjustment.
My current 338 LMAI has a 30 moa rail so with the usable elevation travel in my Ares BTR I can dial to almost 1,900 with a 100 yard zero.
This mount might be a little low on a gas gun but works great on a bolt gun.
