I have sold alot of stuff on the internet, but I have never traded anything. What is the equitable procedure??

Normally when I sell something I wait on the funds. When I have them in hand I ship the item.

So what do you do when trading. Should the initial advertiser wait until he receives the trade?? Or should he ship at the same time?? What if cash is involved?? Should I wait for the cash first?? Or should I ship at the same time and wait on cash and the trade item?? Tom.

Re: Trading On The Internet

Like shane45 said, look at their track record. I found a great deal on a scope on another forum, so I joined up researched the guy's dealings and sent him the money and everything went well.

Re: Trading On The Internet

The only one I ever did was with another member here.
We exchanged full contact information and scanned copies of picture ID.
We contacted each other via phone to confirm that we had good contact numbers and then we each initiated the shipments at the same time.
I sent him photos of the package and tracking info. He did the same.

Everything worked flawlessly.

Re: Trading On The Internet

I traded my G19 on here a couple months back.... everything went smoothly.

Guy I traded it to asked for a hard copy of the FFL to send his G17 to that I was trading for. I sent him a hard copy of the ffl, the mags and the 25 bucks we agreed upon difference between the two guns. He got the info and everything else and sent out the 17, I got the 19 and sent the 19 ... was pretty painless.
