The WV bucks are starting to move a little.
Found first scrape Thursday and set the cuddyback up close.

Not going to waste bandwidth, but here's a few more.

Re: TrailCam pics....

This is the Cuddyback Capture. It takes really good pics.

Here's one that isnt on the trailcam, but I connected on him yesterday morning. 30yd shot and the rage head dropped him in less than 25 yds. Shot just above the shoulder and angled down. It didnt penetrate the other side, it had broke a rib on the far side and the rage and about 4" of broken arrow fell out when skinning it. I tried pulling it out when gutting, but it was lodged behind a rib. A blind man could have followed the trail.

Re: TrailCam pics....

A friend of mine has 20 acres with a deer feeder and trail cams.
He has got pics of moose and bear there as well.
Someone stole his trail cams.
He put up more cameras, and they got stolen too, all except one, that took the thief's picture.
He distributed copies of the picture, offering a reward, on bulletin boards and telephone poles.
He got the thief's name and address from an anonymous typesetter, and never had to pay.
He turned the information over to the county sheriff.
The justice system is much more thorough in rural areas than in big cities.

Re: TrailCam pics....

Used the 3 blade rage. he was 14 1/2" widest at the beams. Not a monster, but he's a good representative of a what we have to hunt in WV.

I hadnt found any scrapes until last Thursday then I moved the trailcam to the scrape which was about 300 yds from the food plot and those were the pics I got.
We have NO mast here this year and they are hitting the clover really hard because there isnt anything else.

The Hunt:
I saw several bucks in the foodplot yesterday morning. Had a spike and heavy tined 6pt within range and chasing does. Shortly after daylight a nice 8pt came in grunting and chasing one of the does. About 5 min later this 8 pt came in but neither were within range. The first 8pt pinned his ears back and the larger racked dear gave ground. Then they both started feeding along with 3 does. Worked their way within 30 yds of me and I had to wait for the two bucks to clear each other before I could shoot. The rage head entered a little high, but the buck ran less than 25 yds and folded.

Sat in the stand again this morning and the same 6pt came in again. I dont know why he hasnt got caught in camera yet as he has been in the plot almost every morning I've hunted. Also had two 4pts come in as well. For the money and time I've invested in the plot, I could go on a nice hunt for some real horns, but my kids enjoy it and so do I.

I've only taken 2 small bucks in the last 13-14 years using traditional equipment so this has been an exceptional season for me.
