Good evening,

I am about to drop some more coin on a new scope. For years I have been using the Gen 2XR reticle in my Schmidts. I have used them fairly well in a few PRS matches but see the need for “more” reticle.

I like the Kahles SKMR3 (mainly because it is so fine @ .036 mrad and has a simple tree with .2 mrad graduations). However, the tremor3 has caught my eye. My biggest concern is how “big” the center dots and wind dots are. After consulting Horus, I found the dots are .05 mrad. That seems a little big to me.

Anyone have pictures of this reticle at 25x against a 1 or 2 MOA Target?

Am I over thinking this?

With the rifles and cartridges I shoot the NF 7-35x t3 with, I rarely run it above 20x for shooting and usually around 15x. That's because I am "no dial" shooting and I need to hold up 8 to 11 mils between 900 and 1000 yds.

I do crank more magnification when spotting.

Here is a thru the lens shot on 22.5x and if you look closely you can see a second target under the tree branches. You would max out at about 900yds with this much magnification on my rifle/cartridge combinations. (click on the pic to see it max size)

Now to go over 1,000 like with .300WM(24) ... need to dial up 5 mils and that halves the value of the wind dots, which is still viable for most conditions I shoot in.

The T3 might not be "more reticle" for many people ... using wind dots and no dial shooting definitely might not be "more reticle for many people ... but for under 1,000 it is "much more reticle" for me. Being able to think in MPH and hold in MPH is faster and I get more hits in the wind with it, no doubt, it has been a game changer for me.

When I got my NF, the Kahles 6-24x SKM3 came in a close 2nd on my list. The full illumination, I thought would work well with thermal clipon and it was a comfortable "known" style reticle. But I wanted to try the wind dots and I'm glad I did. Since then I converted my L&S 3-18x H58 to a T3 so now I have two wind dot scopes ... and my next scope will either be a T3 or a DTR. The DTR has wind dots but is also a ballistic reticle. And it is a ballistic reeticle like no other I've seen. You have to read the manual ... I attached it below the pic of the DTR.

Thanks Wig! The picture really helped. The center dot is much finer than expected.
