TRG 22 - how to attach the swiwel stud

I need to attach the stud on the bottom of the stock (to attach a monopod). I tried to screw it in, but the Polyurethane fell off and now I have a hole in it down to the Aluminum frame. There is a small hole in the Aluminum frame too, but the stud wouldn't fit in. Am I supposed to drill a bigger hole in the Aluminum frame?

I am using stud originally supplied with the rifle.

Any help much appreciated!

Atlas makes a system for attaching a rail to the rear stock for a bipod.
I think this offers a good option for mounting a bipod given the stock configuration of the trg.

One of these days, when I get tired of a rear bag, this is the way I'll go.
