Does anyone out there make non-OEM mags for the trg-22? 260$ seem a bit steep for a magazine. Also, I was wondering if anyone has fiddled around with the magazine well so that it will accept other magazines, possibly even an adapter of some sort?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: TRG-22 Magazines

People say that AI mags fit and feed just fine, though they wobble quite a bit. I haven't tried so I couldn't say. If you get a chance call ACME Sports in Seymour, IN. They are a Class III dealer, etc. and typically have them in stock. The last one he sold me was well under what I thought was cost for the Magazine. Cheapest I have seen ANYWHERE. Its worth a shot. I do wish someone would make an aftermarket mag, but I doubt the market is really that big for them. Plenty of aftermarket stocks for 700s, etc. use AI mags but only Sako used Sako mags. TRG mags are of as good or better quality, its just they are so damned expensive.

Re: TRG-22 Magazines

The TRG magazines are good, but just like everyone said, they will cost you. I run AICS Mag in my rifle, they wobble some, they work with no feeding issues at all. You will have to run the ten round mags, five rounders are too short. You may need to move the forend out some if they are not dropping free, no mods to anything to make them work.

Thanks for the info Alex, that should save me a few bucks...also, might work on some modifications to make the AICS mags fit better, if possible.I'll post here if I get around to it.

Re: TRG-22 Magazines

Just buy the magazines that were made to work for the gun. You won't get jams and they will be reliable in the action. I'd rather have two magazines that I know work 100% of the time than four magazines that may not feed reliably when I need them to.
