TRG-42 Picatinny rail question

There is a set/index pin and screws with locktite on them already. No need to remove. Don't mess with it.

Or, remove it and get a direct mount to remove one link in the chain. I have/run TRG's set up both ways, much prefer the direct mount(Spuhr). I had a Loctited base (not factory threadlock) come loose on me during a match-that sucked.

thats another option as well, right off a dovetail which will get the objective and bore closer together which is preferable. But the picitiny rail is sold if you don't feel the need to do that. That spur stuff is pricy.

TRG-42 Picatinny rail question

Word of caution. The glue/epoxy/loctite (whatever) shit Sako uses to secure their rail from the factory is incredibly tough to get out and it's very easy to fuck up the screws securing it if your not carefully especially being they are small flathead screws. Make sure you have a hollow ground bit before trying or don't even bother.

Even then you may find it incredibly bound even when heat is applied. Te stuff Sako uses is really tough. Recommend you read up on removing the rail before trying if you don't have a lot of experience if so go for it.

That's good - that's what I want to hear. If it's really epoxied down I'm not going to fuck with it. I just don't want it shitting the bed on me in the middle of a match.
