TRG butt stock swivel

Tryed to screw the supplied swivel into the existing hole.Got it a quarter inch started an it began to strip out.Any suggestions other then buying a KRG ?
thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

the pilot hole is likely too small, drill 3/32 smaller then the swivel threads, my TRG came with the swivel but no pilot hole, did come with 2 quik release swivel cups
