I've been offered a trg22a1 in 308 for 3.5k. Is it worth it ? I want something that's 100% reliable to hold zero like my awsm. It's just that the trg action is only held into the chassis with screws not bonded in like AI.

Should I save and just get an AX or go ahead with this trg ?

A trg22a1 at that price is a steal. I’d take that all day everyday

I’ve never owned a trg22a1, but all the TRGs I’ve had have been boringly reliable. Wouldn’t hesitate to get another sako

Like it's been said 1,000 times on this forum. "Worth" is whatever you believe that to be. AX's are sweet and perform really well. TRG's are sweet and perform really well. The new A1 upgrade to the TRG looks good and will probably be a great rifle. Pretty sure 99% of all precision rifles don't have bonded actions. In my experience a bonded action doesn't make the gun anymore reliable/accurate than a non-bonded action. For what it's worth the ASR action isn't bonded to the chassis anymore...

On a highly personal note, I feel that the TRG ergos are a whole lot better than what AI offers. But I can work with either. Both rifles are as accurate and reliable as a top shelf factory rifle can get, that is for sure.

I have a trg22 folder, not the new model but I really like it. For that kind of money on the trg, I would have to go that route vs the ax.
