I put some rounds together this morning to try my first ladder test.It was about 40 degrees out, wind was calm.I set up my target up at 250 to 300 yards out.I started with some hornady 168 bullets loaded from 44 to 46 grains in .2 increments with varget.I loaded the sierra 175's with 43 to 45 varget in .2 increments as well.Tell me where i made mistakes and which load shows promise.I will link the target videos if i can get it to upload. The lines are 1" apart on the target.

Re: Tried my first ladder test today, take a look

Hornady 168 --- you appear to have a pretty well-defined node at 3, 4, 5, (and 6). There is little to no vertical dispersion.

Hornady 175 --- node is not as well-defined, but the 7, 8, 9 node appears to have the least vertical dispersion.

I think your gun likes the 168. If I understand you correctly, load #4 (midpoint of the node) would be 44.4 gr. of Varget. I would use this as my starting point for further testing.
