Trigger cleaning

What's the best way to clean a Remington 700 type trigger? I've always been told us lighter fluid, just the Zippo/Ronson type or can you use charcoal lighter fluid? Might sound like a dumb question but the charcoal type stuff is cheaper and easier to find.

Zippo/Ronson Lighter fluid will leave a white film that acts as a lubricant, Charcoal lighter fluid is kero/mineral sprites based.

I use the ronsonol stuff ( yellow bottle) and it works great on most triggers. Doesn’t seem to have any affect on devcon or marinetex bedding either. Just hose it down through the top with the rifle assembled in the stock.
