I have an SP1 that Bill Wylde built back in the late 1980's. It has an option to set the trigger at 1 lb by setting the safe lever midway between safe-fire and pulling the trigger. Then you move the lever to fire and you have a one lb. release when you pull the trigger.
I recently noticed that the hammer will fall after setting it and moving the lever to the "fire" position. Needless to say that it is unsafe in this condition.
Is anyone familiar with this type of trigger? Can I just replace it with a drop-in? I wonder if there are any modifications that would prevent a drop-in from working?
I would greatly appreciate any input.

DavidJ: You should have no problems with a drop in (McCormick or the like) or just replacing all the fire control components with good parts.
Sounds like the "set" position has worn a bit over the years.
I hope this helps:
