Trigger tuning for non X-Mark trigger on Rem 700?

I picked up a used Dicks $350 special 700 ADL in .308 yesterday. It is a new 2012 gun, but it does not have the X-Mark trigger.

I am having a hell of a time trying to find trigger tuning instructions for this particular trigger. Its either for the old 700 trigger, or the X-Mark.

Does anyone have trigger tuning suggestions (or dissasembly instructions)?

make sure it's not the Xmark. if it's a newer (+2006) rifle, it has it.

there's a gen 1 and gen 2 xmark.

gen 1 has all the adjustment screws internally. gen 2 has the poundage externally (screw on the trigger right below where it goes into the stock).

the dick's one should have the gen 1.

google "x mark trigger adjustment" and you'll get a whole bunch of stuff

Thats what I thought as well, but this one has neither the adjustment screw externally nor does it have the 3 internal adjustments. There is one screw towards the front of the trigger assembly (what looks to be the pull weight screw), but when turned it does nothing.

Go to www.erniethegunsmith.com. They have a kit there I have used and liked.

i wonder if being used, if the owner before you put an older trigger group in it.
