I'm new to the site, first post. Have a question for yall. Does anyone out there have experience with the Trijicon AccuPoint TR23 Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 5-20x 50mm mil dot? I just got my hands on a 700 XCR 308 and would like to know if the scope is worth the price tag, $1020. How might it compare to a comparable Sightron or Nikon? Anyone got there hands on one yet?

I know trijicon to make pretty good optics, I love my Acog on my Rock River. Easily accurate out to 200 (farthest i've shot it). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It would be a good scope, except they only built it with 50 MOA of elevation adjustment. That makes it less than ideal for the long range shooter. Typically for a .308 you want around 70 MOA or more with a 20 MOA base and you can easily get your 100 yard zero and reach 1000 yards without being right at the top or bottom of your adjustment range for both close and long range shots.

They screwed the pooch in that aspect.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I can find very little info on this scope. I can't put my hands on one to look at it and can't afford to risk the coin on something that might or might not be worth it. Way to many choices out there. Don't know if thats a good thing or not. Leaning towards a Mark 4 6-20 now.

Just to let yall know, in case anyone else hapens to need info on the trijicon, I got to handle one at Mcbrides in Austin today. The glass was pretty clear. Hard to tell a difference between it and a mark 4 they had there. The side focus was smooth but the turrets were super tight. Felt like they would pop off they were so tight to turn. Very solid scope and the green center dot was kinda cool. When it was all said and done however I had to go with the mark 4 6-20x50. For 1029.00 I couldnt pass it up. Anyway, just wanted to pass this info on.
