Tripod Front Rest

Re: Tripod Front Rest

i have a homemade version, and is the only thing i used along with a rear "rabbit ear bag" like you have to first zero anything in and for load testing / development.

they are pretty darn stable, and if you do get it, put it back toward the receiver more than the forestock (the torque thing again).

Re: Tripod Front Rest

I have a different brand, but similar model that I use, but I replaced the bag on it. Its ok shooting off the bench, but I have shot tighter groups off a pack in prone. And I dont care for it much when shooting my 300wsm from it. Do you use a rear bag with your bipod presently?

Re: Tripod Front Rest

I have that exact rest and filled the bag with lead shot. The lead is not legal for some competition but it works great. I also have owned two of the Hoppes (orange) rests and think very highly of them, as well.

I went to bipods because in matches, you have very little time to rig your rifle on the firing line. The bipods simplified things and were easier to level.
