primers are very hard on some rounds. I cleaned the pockets good...or at least what i thought was clean? I got about 45 done before I broke the handle on my lee auto ptime? I am using winchester primers loading LC03/04 308 brass.....any suggestions...HELP

Re: trouble primong brass

You can use your chamfer/deburring tool, however I prefer to swage them with either the Dillon case swaging tool or the RCBS tool. Reason being that I'd rather not remove brass from the primer pocket, but instead swage brass back into it. Your primer pockets will last longer this way. But like I said, you can use the chamfer/debur tool in a pinch.

Re: trouble primong brass

If the primer is damaged when crushing them into the crimped primer pocket it may not be reliable. I suppose if they look alright they will be fine. Not sure.

There are a couple inexpensive tools to ream off the crimp or to swage them out. The best is more pricey but worth it as crimped military brass is abundant; The Dillon Swaging tool.
