Troy Battle Ax Stock

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

I'm thinking the profile it similar to a Magpul PRS, but with the capability of collapsing it for work other than long range.

For a long range only rifle, the PRS is nearly unbeatable, but for something like what I'm building, which will be used for hunting at ranges from 50 to 300 yards, I'm thinking that this could really fit the bill.

I'd really like to see if I could get one and rig up a cheek-rest of some sort.

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

Neat looking stock. I don't think they would do a cheek rest as it might have problems with the charging handle when it is in the collapsed position.

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

Sort of a different take on the ACS stock, if you ask me. PRS-meets-ACS-meets a2 trapdoor.

I like it, which is saying alot because most of the Troy stuff i've used left a bad taste in my mouth as far as quality control goes... I would like to try this though, the storage is very appealing.

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

i cant find anything that tells what the kit is and what you get for that extra $70. not bad looking as long as the closure is good and the plastic wont get all mis-shapen

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

kind of ugly looking in my opinion, not that it matters. Im also thinking that spare parts and batteries in the stock might rattle around and be pretty noisy unless padded in some way.

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

i think it looks like a cross between the SOPMOD stock and an A2 but everyone has their own opinion. if you want somthing solid, that is collapsable i (personally) would just go with a UBR, but once again my opinion. having both the UBR and the PRS if i had tio do it all over again i probally would have gone with 3 UBRs as the PRS while soild is somewhat slightly a PITA to adjust while behind the rifle. (or maybe i just need to run the PRS through the full range of motion until it smooths out, the LOP adjustment knob its pretty stiff, and only gets harder to adjust the further out it goes)

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

I played with it today and it is a very short stock compared to say a CTR. The buttplate I believe is steel because it is heavy. The storage feature is nice but I don't like the A2 type lock to keep the buttplate secured and I am not a big fan of the placement of the adjustment lever. It does have a nice balance though.

Anybody ever try one of these? Looks like it would be a nice addition to my MK12 project. </div></div>

Needs an actual axe blade on the bottom

Re: Troy Battle Ax Stock

They are heavy and very solid feeling.
A standard collapsible M4 style stock would be hard pressed to butt-stroke a puppy, the battle axe however could be used to break all sorts of stuff.

Personally I'd just go with a lighter stock design and use the gun feature to shoot at whatever I wanted to destroy.

I think I've probably just seen the last of the Mohicans a few too many times.
