2 DAYS LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Has anyone used the Modular Chassis System for the M-14/M1A? How do you like it? When I was in AFG the Army shooter's using the Sage EBR did not like it. Told me their rifles where not holding zero. Wondering if the MCS does a better job?
The Sage system will hold zero. All soldiers that have brought in their M14s turn in for credit that said exactly that were looked into real quick. Soldiers think clean so the take the rifle out of the chassis to clean. You would be amazed at how many screws are missing from the chassis systems when they come through Bagram.
I have one and it does not change zero at all back home. The ones over here that i have worked on and helped units maintain do not change zero. The problem is armorers helping their soldiers take apart the rifle to clean it and loosing or not properly tightening all screws back down when they reassemble. Always irks me when a weapon gets a bad reputation from people shit talking something they don't know how to maintain.
The troy system is miles ahead of the sage chassis. I'm not going to bash the sage forum on here, but the troy system is what I would spend my money on. I'de rather have a properly bedded MCM for that matter.
both are heavy, I used the Sage and sold it, used the Troy and sold it, now i have my M1A in a Mccann carbon fiber stock with the irons back on it. I would look at the Vltor, Mccann, and M14.ca stocks.
Mine is in the 8 lb range http://www.m14.ca/m14m1a-blackfeather-rs.html
