Rifle Scopes TRS-1 mil/mil vs Grandslam 3-10 40mm mil/mil

Re: TRS-1 mil/mil vs Grandslam 3-10 40mm mil/mil

The Weaver has no paralax adjustment and no illuminated reticle. Go with the Millett. It has more zoom and a mildot-bar reticle, easier to range and holdover.

Suggest you look at the Nitrex TR2 3-15x42 SF with pullup turrets instead of the GrandSlam scope. Why? this Nitrex is a Weaver Super Slam with another label for a heck of a lot less...depending on reticle and with Nitrex rebate, cost will be $200 or $240 plus shipping. I have one of these and it has very very good optics and features you'll like.

It is a discontinued model in Nitrex available at

www.natchezss.com Just do a search for Nitrex TR2 and you'll find it.

I was interested in this option, then I noticed on the Nitrex site that parallax is not adjustable. The image on the natchez website leads you to believe it's side focus.

Re: TRS-1 mil/mil vs Grandslam 3-10 40mm mil/mil

Afraid you miss read the Nitrex site. Ignore their pictures of TR2 models which does not show a side focus. Yes, TR2 scopes with less magnification than the 3-15X42 does lack parallax adjustment....but the 3-15X42 and higher Tr2s have a side focus parallax adjustment. The TR1/Grand Slam models also have a parallax adjustment in models ABOVE power range of 3.5x10, but it is not the side focus type.

Natchez site does not mislead you. I have a TR2 3-15X42 and it is a side focus.
