Rifle Scopes True 1X variable power optic on a 20MOA rail?

Is there an issue with mounting a variable power scope with true 1X at the low end on a canted (20MOA) rail? I remember reading this somewhere.

Someone here must know. There is some kind of adverse effect at 1X.
