I hear alot about peoplele truing the bolt on rem 700. Does Savage need to be trued also?

If yes, than no.
If no, then yes.

Pretty much what Mike said.

Does the rifle shoot? Yes: Shoot it and learn.
Does the rifle shoot? No: If you are rebarreling, have it done for a safety measure. If you rebarrel and DONT true, then IF it does not shoot, you will second guess it and not be happy with the rifle.
