Looking for some ideas here. I put together a 6.8 SPC AR to use for deer and coyote here in Va. This rifle has an non-railed aluminum tube forend on it. The problem is in the 20-30 deg. temps in the winter the tube gets colder than a well diggers ass. I wrapped it in 550 cord but I am looking for something a little more permanant to insulate it a little.Iprobably should have put a Hogue rubber coated tube on in but I had the YHM tube already.....thanks

War Sport offers a handguard sock:

Perhaps there might be suppressor socks of various brands that might work?

Here's another potential option:

An appropriately sized innertube (maybe from a bicycle tire?) could possibly be cut and fitted to work (but might not be pretty).

If, by chance, your handguard is the Troy with round holes, I think they recently introduced some type of rubber inserts.

Re: Tube forend cover

I had thought about the bicycle inner tube. May give that a try. The suppressor socks look good and might work but @ $170.00 I think I will pass on that one...thanks for the ideas though.
