243 Winchester. 115gr Berger VLD Hunter. Started with velocity set at 2,900. DA in my yard was 456, DA at the local airport was 500.
So last night we shot at 100 to confirm zero.
Moved to 600, range chart shows 3.3mil. Shot and was low and right. Corrected .3 up and .3 left. Shot a good group, also shot a good group onto 8 inch steel.
Moved to 1,000
I changed the velocity on the calculator to 2,800 and it shows 8.5mil @1,000. Seemed a little high, I seem to remember last time at 1,000 was about 7.8mil
Shot 5 rounds at a 2 foot round steel, no hits. Shot 5 rounds at the cardboard backer with a big shoot n see, target was toward the bottom, no hits, not even on cardboard.
So what happened? I'm thinking I shot right over the target.
Obviously I did something wrong (besides miss a pretty big target)
