I slowed it down to .25 speed and it looks almost like a turtle.

A buddy gave me his washing machine motor a couple weeks ago (pic below).

Could not believe the speed - 17,500 RPM that's crazy!!

Yep, a 2 pole at 310 Hz sounds about right. There will aslo be an inverter somewhere in the machine that’ll be paired to the motor. Don’t bother hooking it up to 60 Hz, it’ll simply let all the smoke out. ?

I have a rotary phase converter, but unfortunately he clipped the wires and trashed the machine without pulling the VFD

Phase converter merely synthesizes the third phase from a single (2 phase) system. Rotary phase converter won’t help you.
What are you trying to accomplish ?

LOL, just added the motor pic because I (and probably many others) had no idea the washer had a 17,500 rpm motor in it

I really appreciate the offer for help! Motor will probably just be scrapped since none of the necessary electronics are there.
