Going to build a new custom hunting rifle in 300 WSM. What would be the best twist rate to mainly shoot 180 grain hunting ammo.

Torn between 1-10" twist or a 1-11" twist??

Appreciate the help!!

Either will work fine. I use 10 twists in all my .30 and they work from the 168s to the 240s.

I have a 26" Krieger 1:10 twist, that works great with all the bullets mentioned. The 180 grain accubonds stabilize and shoot well in the 10 twist. It shoots the 190 & 210 Bergers great. I even was getting good groups out of the 155 Hornady a-max that were smoking. I know it's overstabilized for LR shooting, but on varmints I like to use the lights. I think both will work fine, but if you ever wanted to go heavier, the 10 twist gives you a little bit extra, although for LR stuff, it would slightly overstabilize the 155's and lighter.
