I have recently put together a 6.5 Grendel on a AR-15 platform and the bbl I got is a Sabre Defense 18" 1-7.5" twist rate. I was wondering if the bullet and twist rate rule is the same for that cal. as is for the .223,5.56mm. ( The heavier the bullet the lower the in # the twist rate , the better.
Ex: The 77gr. .223 bullets work well with the 1-8, 1-7 twist/ The higher in twist rate the worse off with heavy bullets.

What would be the ideal bullet weight to start shooting or "should" work the best out of the 6.5 Grendel with a 1-7.5" twist rate? I was thinking probly the 120gr/123gr bullets would be best. I could be wrong tho. I see they have bullets for the 6.5 all the way down to 85gr up to 140gr. Does anyone know the twist rates that match the bullets weights? Chart like this example below for the .223 but for the 6.5 Grendel?
Example: 1-7 twist: 69-80gr
1-8 twist: 62-68gr
1-9 twist: 52-60gr
1-10twist: 40-50gr
1-12twist: 35-45gr
Or what bullet weight would good with the 1-7.5" Twist?

With a 6.5mm a 7.5 twist will basically stabilize most any bullet you put in there. I run an 8 twist in my 6.5 Creedmoor and have no problem with the heavier 140 AMAX.
