Greetings. I am here because I want to learn as much as possible about precision long range shooting. I have been all over the internet for the last several months, came around to this site a number of times, and have now joined. Thanks for the acceptance. What is unbelievable is that I am actually posting something on an internet site, never been done before by me.

Welcome Doc from another newcomer to SH.
I haven't read every post in every section yet but am working on it :)
I'm adding yards to my bucket list but haven't actually made it to LR.

What you shoot?

BTW, presently have tabs open to my ticker and 4 other forums.

Hello and thank you for the reception. I have pinned my hopes on F Class F/TR, so I have purchased a .308 Win bolt action fitted with a Steiner 5-25x56. This is so new that I haven't fired it yet. I am lining up all of my ducks, such that I will be collecting shot data for dope workup beginning with the first cold shot.

Well, you picked enough scope :)
I find F-Class a fun challenge. I'll never win a match (unless no one else shows) but so far each time I have bettered my last.
Still working on enough points to reach the lowest rating @600 F-open.
Drop dope came easy, it's wind calling that bites.
What's nice is I've yet to find anyone at a meet that wasn't friendly and helpful to a noob.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you, you are encouraging. I too have found that long range shooters are a gregarious group of people, don't know why, just glad they are. I will keep you posted. Best to you and your efforts.
