This past Saturday, while we were out, our little angel decided to have a good old time all throughout the downstairs, including a kitchen raid. She chewed everything up that even smelled remotely like food, including the contents of the trash. Sunday, and Monday, she managed to bring up some of what she ingested, but nowhere near all of it.

An ultrasound this morning revealed that she appears to have an abscess on her pancreas, so they're going to poke and prod that this afternoon while they get everything else out of her that's not supposed to be there.

Cost? The love of a loyal dog is priceless, although I've changed my mind about the new name, and we may go for "Select Fire" instead of "suppressor."

Squeeze your doggies and send us some good vibes.

She's out of surgery. They de-trashed her stomach, the contents of which included a partial red Solo cup —-- party animal -- and resected a small portion of her pancreas. A biopsy was submitted to a pathologist. We'll see her tonight, but no going home for a few days.

Had a great dog go blind young.
I can't remember age but quite a few years later I was calling for him one night he wasn't coming but I could here him. His to back legs wouldnt work.
Took him to the animal hospital they gave him a drug and gave him a 20% chance of walking again. Told us to leave him over night.
That was a long night. They called use the next morning he was up and walking!!!
Had him another 2 years after.
Hang in there!!!

I must admit I have only seen it once, but I did take a Kong out of a Rottweiler's stomach one time. Although they are marketed as "indestructible," this one was chewed up into marble-sized chunks and dutifully swallowed. Just some food for thought to help you sleep a little better...

Glad your dog is ok, VeerG! Ours are family members so I can relate to the worry, frustration and expense.

My chocolate labs can NOT be given Kongs because they immediately prove that "indestructible" claim to be utter crap. The only thing they seem not to be able to destroy with their mouths is rocks - and they've given them a valiant effort before. Lol. Now a days, they steal firewood from the woodpile or the BBQ pit and use it for their pastime.
