UPS lose your shit? It’s on ebay

Yeah....most things aren't lost, the label gets damaged or falls off. Once that happens, they don't know where it goes. It goes into a trailer, with everything else that happens to, and then it goes to a company contracted with the carrier where they sell it, keep a percentage, and the rest goes to the carrier.

EXACTLY!

People have no clue about “best practices” when it comes to shipping.

Then they are baffled that folks like me ship so many packages for my business but RARELY lose one or have damage.

I tape over EVERY label tracking, address and return address.

On international where everything goes in a clear envelope I place an extra copy with the addresses between the envelope and the package. It can be seen when the paperwork is removed. I had a package returned from Bulgaria, and that was the only thing left on the package.

I just had a customer send me something that has gone missing. He handed the small package to the USPS clerk and she asked if he wanted tracking. He said “not necessary”. I made a buzzer sound and told him to start printing his own damn labels.

I had a gas tube for an AR take 89 days to be delivered....domestically. What sucks, it was a special order custom made gas tube, ordered a new one, waited, it was made, sent to me, I painted it, send it back to the customer via UPS this time, and both were delivered the same f'in day.
