A federal judge in West Virginia has ruled that a federal ban on possessing a gun with its serial number removed is unconstitutional, the first such ruling since the U.S. Supreme Court dramatically expanded in June.

BLUF: serial numbers on a firearms were part of the federal Gun Control Act of 1968, and the Judge used the Supreme Court's June 24 ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc v. Bruen to dismiss the charge.

The implication seems far reaching. This should impact damn near everything from the federal Gun Control Act of 1968 as violating the Bruen "standard." My understanding is the ATF&E held an emergency meeting after the decision (albeit hearsay).
