Rifle Scopes US Optics 17x vs. 22x & reticle ??

I'm looking for help and advise with building my US Optics scope.

I'm shooting a 300wm. I think I'm pretty set on the 17x but not 100% yet - and I need help with which reticle to go with. I built the rifle for long range shooting (1000+ yards) and hunting.

I've 17X SN-3's on two .308's an a 22X on a 300wm.
For long range small target ID, the 22X shines. The 17X's are good to about 1200yds for most things, but for small target ID the 22x shines. I don't normally field a spotting scope so my glass has to do double duty.


Reticle choice for me is MDMOA an 1/2 IPHY EREK's an wind, in all three.

Same here, SN3 3.8-22s on two 300WMags, and 3.2-17s on 308s and 243.

The 22s have 34mm and 35mm tubes because I prefer the larger tube .

All are ERGO, lit, and EREK.

22 on my 7WSM and 17 on my 308

22 has less eye relief than the 17.

Sold my 3.8-22 and replaced it with another 3.2-17. Don't miss the 3.8-22.

I use a 17X on my 7WSM and don't miss having less magnification. My reticle is an H25 and it works great. No complaints.

I really like my 3.2-17's.... special run with 50mm objective and pro comp reticles. They only made 10 of these.

I've got the 3.8-22X on a .338 LM. GAP reticle 1/10th mil. The only thing I don't like about it it's not a TPAL. I would have a tough time picking between the 2 you listed for a 1000+ yard rifle, but I would lean toward the 17X
