for all you guys that are shooting 1000y +
is there any reason why i dont see many using the sn9 range of scopes, all i see is s&b, nf or prem .
i see its not a sniper scope, but there are plenty fun/sport shooters on here.
is it quality issue or just the wrong bit of kit ?
i was thinking of ordering one ?

Re: US optics sn9

I put the uso on a Windrunner 50bmg. It is 1 hell of a nice scope and the extended eye relief and 295 moa adjustment are a bonus! Search my profile for pics!

Re: US optics sn9

It's all about price. They are very expensive. 4 grand unless used so it's out of the range of many . After dropping all the coin on rifle and support equipiment it is hard to come up with for many. Killer scope.....

Re: US optics sn9

I got my scope used but haven't had any problems so far. Its really well made and lets in a ton of light. Spec'd out I think my scope retails for 3700ish.

Because of the external adjustments?? I'd like to also now how much say 34 mils raises the lens, do you need to keep raising the cheak piece?

Re: US optics sn9

It's got pretty much double the elevation travel of most other scopes in its class. I had one earlier this year but my base didn't like it and in the end it was overkill for my rifle. Still, I plan to buy another one in the future.

Re: US optics sn9

am i reading this right ?
If you dial up elevation then back down its off 1-2 moa ?

That means it would fail a simple box test ?
Not worth the cash if thats the case

Re: US optics sn9

There used to be a video on youtube that triggerfifty did with a SN9. He put a dial indicator on it and went thru the full range and back and it went back exactly to the thousandth. (repeated perfect).....

Re: US optics sn9

Well, it's quite handy when you're shooting ELR distances - no holdovers, just dial in elevation.

On a silly note, I figured I could dial in at least 800m with this setup...

I have Triggerfifty's old/exact scope. I don't have any problems with it so far

Re: US optics sn9

How are the 10-42x, DS? I went with the 3.8-22x because I figured the FOV would be too tight on the 10-42x, making it hard to get back on target.

Re: US optics sn9

Hi Dogtown,

I have not noticed any FOV issues. In fact when shooting movers at 300m with the sn9`s I find about 16x comfortable and about 10x or 12x with the sn3 3.8-22x44. I have not compared them side by side for FOV, just wht I feel comfortable with when doing movers.

The only trade off I think with the scope is the illuminated cell - I have them - this feature limits the turret cell position (you can see by comparing or pictures), in practice 1/4 moa clicks and smaller are possible which is fine for me.

David.

Thats good but did it hold zero? I just had bad luck with them i guess. Im not saying they dont work, just saying that i didnt work for me.
