What do you-all think, was this a fair price?

I just bought a used 2011/12 Nightforce NSX zerosptop NP-1RR Reticle,5.5-22x56 NXS,Must of been a special order with that reticle. He had it listed for $1699.I paid $1450,The glass looks good ,the only thing is its got some deep ring marks.
http://nightforceoptics.com/5-5-22-x-56-nxs/,Also can get some New rings for $120.00

Thanks for your opinions

Also he has the same scope, non zerostop,Its "older" and the white lettering/numbers are dirty looking,No ring marks,He's asking $1399.00,I figuring $1000/1100 . What do you think?

Re: Used NightForce,Did I Get Deal??

You got a "fair price". Whether it's a "good deal" or not depends on whether the scope specifications fit your shooting needs.

For the older scope, I'd expect to see a transaction price of around $1250-1300. If it's a slightly older scope, the supposedly dirty white lettering may, in fact, be silver. Prior to a few years ago, NF scopes used mechanical engraving for the lettering (current NF scopes use laser etching). You can check by gently running your fingernail along the lettering - if the groove is deep enough to catch, then it is probably the older engraved style.

At this point, does it matter if you got a "good deal" or not?

I personally wouldn't have given that for it because it doesn't suit my needs----I prefer their MLR reticle and .1 mRad knobs.

Exactly.

Hmm a fair price... It's only worth what you or someone else is willing to pay for it. I echo the above statements if it suits your needs than great deal or average deal all that matters is it suits your needs. To me I would not be interested at that price because the reticle would be unusable for my shooting needs. My honest opinion great scope, crappy reticle.
