I noticed a guy listing a rifle on one of the web gun sites that claimed "only 3 or 4 of the S&B 8541 scopes were now in civilan hands". I heard there were actually quite a few out there. Anyone have any ideas how many?
I also wonder about the green Redfields. How many are around? Unertl 8 X USMC snipers?
    Unertl 10 x snipers?
Leupold 10x USMC marked scopes off the M40's? I understand there were only 50 of these made. Any guesses?

Come all the way over here from Arfcom?

Also, your sig has a grammatical error.

I am not talking about unlawfully removed ones. I know some of the S&B scopes were sold to the public, after contract. Overruns. The older ones like the Unertls of pre WW11 vintage, were loged out. Not looking for stolen scopes. Ialso herd some of the 10X ones were originaly sold to or given to civilans. These are the ones I was asking about.

    Re: USMC scopes

There is a guy asking $9,000 for an 8541 he claims was taken off a NON military government rifle....I went to AR-15.com and checked it out, then looked up hte NSN and realized it was illegal for anyone to own one as the DEMIL code was D - which means it was required to be rendered unusable.

So technically no civilian can legally own an 8541 that was issued to the USMC.

Things happen of course but it just pisses me off to see someone trying to make $9000 on a stolen item.

X, Thank you for the info. Arctic, I am with you. Not so much making money, as just not following the law. Money or no.
    Thanks again guys.
