Rifle Scopes USO Issues

I have USO SN3-TPAL with an illuminate recital. For some reason when I have the illumination turned off the battery gets drained. Has anyone here experienced this?

By the way I should mention that the folks at USO are more than accommodating and willing to do anything to make sure I'm happy. By no means am I trying to disparage their product. Frankly I think it’s the best.

I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else and if so what did you do to remedy the problem?
