Looking for input on the USO spotting scope. Anyone use one or have suggestions for ordering one, option wise? Has anyone used the NV mount? How does that work?
    Thank you

    Re: USO spotting scope

Well I have one and I do like using it, now that being said the glass isnt the best but its not designed to be a Zeiss Spotter 60.
Its great for spotting hits on a shoot n C at 300yds provided the mirage isnt too bad. But I have called shots for buddies out to around 600yds with it on steel. I like the long eye relief because I have glasses and the damn thing is stout, you arent going to hurt it when you toss it in the bag to go to the range.
I stuck with the good ol black anodized finish. Not many other options for it that I am aware of other than the reticle choice, sunshade w/ or w/o ARD, butler creek caps and a cover from Stu or TAB.
Get a reticle based on your rifle scope, i.e. Mil/Mil or Moa/Moa, I ordered my spotter with the Mil-MPR reticle
Never heard of or tried the NV mount for it so I dont have any input there.
Looking back when I had ordered mine, I should have ordered the sunshade and cover for it.
    Hope this helps,

    AS

    Re: USO spotting scope

I use mine a fair amount. I have the GAP to match my scopes. It is not as good optically as a dedicated high end spotter but is good. You will like or hate the eye relief...I like it. It makes a very good hunting spotter and I use it estimating ranges. It is very nice for spotting hits (misses) and being able to directly read off the mil adjustment. Think of it as a high power USO scope without elev/windage adjustments. As above stated it is very robust and not a worry about slinging it around in my pack.
