I am looking into getting a scope for my 338 lapua instead of having it share my nightforce with my 6br. I am thinking a fixed 10 power. Is the USO worth the extra $$ over the super sniper HD version?

hands down its 10000% better. if you have the extra $, dont hesitate on the USO. You will regret it if you buy SS and then use a USO.

I was thinking I could get the USO for around $1000. However, I just built one one the USO website and $1,500 is more like it. For that price, it brings the nightforce 5.5-22X into the game. This would probably be a much better option correct?

Or wait on here, save up a few hundred more, and buy a SN3 3.2-17 and skip the whole Nightforce zombie craze. They are nice scopes, but for $1900-$2200 you can get a scope that is WAY nicer.

Also, look into the IOR Valdada fixed 16x if you dont mind a fixed scope. its 16x w/42mm obj. It has the amazing glass IOR is known for, without any of the problems everyone on here bitches about. I dont know why more people dont use them....

I really like the USO ST10s myself they are great scopes. The ERCK elevation knob can get 308 out to 1k in 1 REV and they offer really nice reticles.

yes, the st10s are bad ass. Or go with the ST17, same choices, and rings in about $200ish above the same setup in a ST10

That looks exactly like what I am looking for. I'm assuming the fixed ior would stand up to the recoil of 338? I know there has been some reliability issues with other ior scopes.

I have never had any issues with one, i freakin love em. But you will have someone who has had a variable ior say "its gonna break on you" but few if any have used the fixed. I give them 5 stars in my book. and im one of the many who HAVE had a variable ior fail on them. The fixed versions are one of the best kept secrets on the market right now in my opinion... but that is just a opinion

USO SN3 1.5 - 17 or 3.2 - 22. Eat the raman and have the best. It's, well, worth every stinking noodle you eat for days on end to have. IOmagine, buy raman for all your meals and all that extra beer, steak, potato chip money gets you a super USO scope in short order. Really, it's the only way to go
If your stomach and desire can't handle that much raman, go woth the SWFA SSHD. WHy? Because Chris swears on it and says it is a superb scope. If it wasn't he wouldn't say it or be selling it

hard 2 find used. they arnt well known of and the people who do use them rarely sell them. when u do see them they are $500-$700. and they go FAST

Yes the NF would be a better option for a 338 if you are looking to spend 1500, however if you are still wanting a fixed 10x they hit the PX on this site all the time, you can get a 1600 dollar scope for 1,000-1,200 dollars on this forum almost daily if you keep an eye on the classifieds.

Bought a 37mm ST10 on here used for $950 at the end of last year. Then I sent it off to get ERGO added for $180. You can find some smokin' deals on very nice optics here on the HIDE....I agree with aggiessig.
