So I just got a phone call from the postal service about a package of bullets I sent to a guy here on the forums. Apparently the package tore and it got flagged for inspection. A federal agent called me and proceeded to tell me how it was a crime to mail loaded ammo and threatened felony charges, I had to explain to him how it’s not hazardous and it’s not loaded ammo and give him permission to open it and look through it. This is just a reminder if you’re shipping reloading supplies make sure it’s in good packaging and know we are under a watchful big brother.

I don't ship bullets. I ship leaded copper feedstock. No need to volunteer anything other than it poses no threat to anyone or anything while under their care.

OP, I hope you got the agent's name and filed formal complaint with their supervisor. Sounds like a threat and intimidation. Besides, I thought the government was shut down. Shouldn't that asshat be "sick" at home like those TSA blowhards?

i mailed a rifle few weeks ago from a VERY local post office (ie super small). lady there just asked if everything was legit, i said yes (because it was) and she mailed it. some know, some don't know but trust and clearly some are pretty ignorant.

Must be lucky-have a prepper type postman that knows what comes my way and goes out of his way to deliver them to my door, when our bank of PO Boxes is a couple hundred yds away. Small town living can work on occasion. Always make sure to thank him personally when I see him.

Well I mailed it via my local post office which is in a very small town, maybe 5000 people (not even a fedex or ups shipping center here), usps priority (guy paid on Friday and couldn’t mail it till Tuesday). It wasn’t till it got to El Paso (all mail to or from here goes through there) to the sorting center that they questioned it. Never though twice about it until they called me, I’ve had thousands of projectiles and brass sent here. And I’ve mailed projectiles and brass and all sorts of things out of here as well.
