I shoot a mix of bench and steel. I don't compete but I hate being out-shot so competitive fits. Been hanging between 300 and 800 yards mostly. Learning to read wind, bought a Kastrel to cheat since I pretty much suck at it right now. Been reloading for [cough] years, precision handloading for the last couple.
Started with hunting rifles, graduated to modifying off the shelf stuff for bench, bought a 10 BA Stealth and it has been all down hill (for my wallet) from there. Modified R700's, fancy M21, more pistols, more AR's, everything in the safe got new stocks/bedded, triggers, better optics, new barrels, more new barrels, ran out of safe, finally gave in recently and purchased everything for a full build with 6.5 Creedmoor and 6mm Dasher barrels to work with. I tell myself this will allow me to sell off some of the herd. Yeah, that will happen. Wife knows about all of it. Just shakes her head and says whatever you want to do - yes, more wallet pain. <FIN>
