The guys that are coming with me are Pocatello PD SWAT maybe they can give us an explosive breaching demonstration.

Re: Utah Shootouts Apr 9, 2011

I got 3 different targets printed up for the shoot house, 3 different scenarios (and many variations). I wanted to get input from shooters about what they like, how to score and par times etc. And what would be good for Sept.

Bring some extra ammo if you like (I know everybody does anyway)

Capt,
It doesn't look like it's gonna let up till you pass Salt Lake. It's been raining and snowing here for 2 days. I just talked to the range people. It's bone dry down there, windy and chilly.

Will be heading out in just a bid, see ya there.

Re: Utah Shootouts Apr 9, 2011

COF if I remember right 100 yards CB, 10 hostage targets, KYL 5 rounds support side, barricade 5 shots and standing 5 shots,
400 yards KYL 5 rounds, 600yd B27 target 5 rounds, 1000yd 5 rounds, bowling pins at 350,400,450,500,550 1 shot each 5 total.
Pistol and carbine in the LE area and shoot house

Thats probably close

Re: Utah Shootouts Apr 9, 2011

That's pretty close Captain.

It was a long day at the gun show today and I'm still getting scores calculated. I'll get them up tomorrow. There's some great video too I'll try to get made up in the next day or so.

If anyone knows of someone that could do the scores during the day we could get them added up by the time everyone was headed home. That would be a really good thing. Kurt out of Las Vegas sent me the spread sheet they use but I just never got to learn how to use it.

I put the scores up on the website. Go to monthly events and click on past monthly events. www.utahshootouts.com

Had about 20 shooters, a little snow here and there. Had a few complaints about not being able to see the 1000 yd targets because of the snow. Excuses excuses.

Met some great guys from Idaho.

It looks like Ron kicked our rears on the morning precision shoot. Robert built a new wall we shot over, under, around and through.

Tucker took the best score for the carbine with 18 hits out of 20 shots on the turning targets. Looking like we need to get them things facing for less than on half second to make it more challenging for Tucker.

We dropped the scores for the running man target. We only got half way through when some one killed him, never to move again.

Steven took top scores on both pistol stages with all hits and best time for both stages. We scored the pistol with a forced point spread. Taking everyone with all hits, best time got 75 points, 2nd best got 70 point, 3rd got 65 and on down. Then took all who had one miss, gave them the next lowest score from best to worst time. And so on. Scores ran from 75 down to 5 points for the 15 shooters we had.

We got some great video I'll get together hopefully tonight sometime.
