Someone is offering me a used but in good condition M21 in trade for a mower that I am selling but I have no idea what a used M21 is worth, any help would be appreciated.

New Springfield Armory M-21 $3k plus, without scope, mount, or bipod.

My M-21 went away back in the mid -90's, but my experience was that the stock comb was too tall to be used with just the iron sights. My solution was to remove the Adjustable cheek piece block and use it as a template to make a replacement block that had a lower profile allowing iron sights usage. By retaining the original cheek piece block without modifying it, the stock's considerable cost/value was preserved. The rifle itself is a work of art and shoots about 1MOA with good ammo.

The pictured stock appears to have a lower comb than mine had, but it's been over 20 years and a lot can happen in that time, including my own fading memory.

Be aware that SA did sell the stock separately, and ensure that the rest of the rifle matches the description in the ad I posted.

Gander Mtn wants over $4100. Although a scope and mount are pictured, no mention of them is made in the description, nor of the N/M sights. The basic rifle pictured, without the stock, appears identical with my 'Loaded Stainless' M-1A, and I am not aware of any M1A receivers made in Stainless Steel by Springfield Armory,.

The M1A 'Loaded' currently retails new in the $1500-$1700 range.

Springfield Armory's description.

I've just been looking for the stock separately. Regular walnut M1A stocks look to be in the $500 range. I bought my M-21 stock separately from Springfield Armory in the '90's..Maybe they still sell them separately, but I'd expect to pay a good bit more than $500 for it today.
