I'm a huge Soviet technology fan and have been eyeing a Vector RPD at my local gun shop. He's knocked the price down to where it's a good buy. Just wondering if you guys have any experience with this rifle, as far as reliability and shootability goes.
    Thanks,
    Phillip

Im doing one now with a new Polish kit. These have the g.i. barrel and I will have my new reciever this week from DSA. I think once its over I will only be out 16-1700 which is ok compared to just buying one. And I think the build quality should be better.

Before you throw your money away on a Vector, you better check with people on Vector's customer service. My experience with them is they SUCK! Bought a new Vector mini Uzi that was the biggest piece of crap ever made.Good luck ever getting anyone there to talk with for repairs or service. After their ATF fiasco they went downhill.

two good friends of mine bought vector's RPD and neither one cycled properly no matter what we tried, customer service was a joke but they got their money back. This was several years ago though.
good luck and shoot it first if you can.

Same her not a single problem in 4+ years. Just be careful when loading the belt the book instructions could lead to a bent top cover.
