Guys i need some input about which versa-pod to consider for a project im putting together.
Nothing special just a R700LTR i will be shooting 2-3 times a month, mostly on dry ground (grass). There are a lot of options "flavors" of the versa pod and i need to thin the herd a bit.

All input will be well received.

Thanks

J

Re: Versa-pod recommendation

I bought the Versa-Pod with the SKI feet. I ground off the the big "V" that sticks down and put a skim layer of RTV silicone on it...and let it cure. It works great on our shooting benches and my shooting mat. I like the flat feet and the rubber bottom gives a LOT more surface area than the normal rubber caps...Makes it so easy to load the bipod when shooting. One could leave the V if shooting on grass or dirt..it was made for that.

I don't get "bipod bounce" with this setup. My Harris was much harder to load up and bounced easily.

Re: Versa-pod recommendation

I had a chance to play with these at SHOT and liked them. I thought the ski feet with the V on the bottom was a good design. If your shooting is likely to get varied in the future you might consider their 'pack'. If memory serves correct you get multiple heights and feet in a nifty pack all worth about $350.

Whichever you go with, I'd be interested in your review on it.
