What appears to be a vertical crack in shoulder of twice fired Lapua .308 brass. Looks like a crack, but can't feel any physical crack on inside or outside of casing. This occurred on second firing of this brass.

Bolt rifle, AMP annealed after first firing, NT to 14, no other pressure signs, Redding S type with bushing, very small shoulder bump.

Any ideas on why this happened? Just a bad piece of brass?

Can you see light to it? If you take some 0000 steel wool or hell just a scraper of some sort, can you scratch it off?

Its weird that it stops right at what looks like your turning line?

Yes, looks like it stops at NT line

No light through it. Running pick over it, inside and out, can't really feel anything. But won't scratch off.

That is an odd looking crack if it is a crack. Years ago I had a box of Winchester factory ammo and several pieces were cracked. I noticed the first couple after firing and then found a couple unfired. They all went up to the case mouth.
has this only happened on the one case?
